'You rescued us!': Allison Williams celebrates first birthday of adopted pup Moxie by taking her for a walk as she is nearly unrecognizable in hoodie 

It was a bone-numbingly cold 45F in New York on Friday.

But the chill didn't stop Allison Williams from taking her cute pooch Moxie out for a walk as she celebrated the rescue dog's 'estimated' first birthday.

The 27-year-old was bundled up in a camel coat with her face almost buried in the fur trim on her hood.

She paired it with baggy blue trousers tucked into knee-high grey suede Ugg boots as she held onto Moxie's lead.

Her precious pooch, who is thought to be a Golden Retriever-mix, sported a thick coat of blonde fur of her own and didn't seem to be bothered by the chill.

Allison, best-known as co-star of HBO's Girls, shared an adorable throwback snap of herself cuddling her pup on Instagram, captioned: 'Moxie, I know you can't read, but you are (estimated to be) 1 year old today.

The previous day she posted a headshot of her constant canine companion, saying: 'I love this beautiful idiot so much. #Moxie'

Allison was first spotted trying to train her puppy to walk on the lead in New York last March.

Taking to Instagram back then, she introduced Moxie to her 410,000 followers, telling them: ‘In honor of #NationalPuppyDay, meet the new member of my family, Moxie. We adopted her from@animalleague, so since she's a rescue we're not exactly sure age/breed.

‘They think 10 weeks and Golden mix. My heart bursts for this lady. Even when she wakes me up at night. #ObviNoFilter #SoTired#SoWorthIt.'

Allison shares Moxie with her husband Ricky Van Veen, 34, the co-founder of College Humor. They tied the knot at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming in September after dating for four years. 

Keeping her fans in the picture:  On Thursday, the actress also shared this image and confirmed that HBO had cancelled the sitcom, Girls, which is due to start its fifth seasons on February 21

The star-studded guest list included Girls' creator Lena Dunham, Katy Perry, John Mayer and Tom Hanks, who officiated. 

The bride wore an Oscar de la Renta gown as her father, journalist Brian Williams, walked her down the aisle.

Meanwhile on Thursday, Allison shared an old publicity still from Girls as she confirmed that HBO had cancelled the sitcom, which is due to start its fifth seasons on February 21.
