But Match Of The Day presenter Lineker, who has 4.6million followers on Twitter, sparked fury when he tweeted an insensitive joke back, saying: 'I think we all worry about our defence'.
Hundreds of people have since commented on the joke, which was branded as 'insensitive' and 'distasteful' just days after the bombing which killed dozens and injured hundreds on Tuesday.
