Richard Cresswell, 58, from Nottinghamshire, (pictured inset with daughter) was looking through washed-up debris on a beach in Fuerteventura when he made the shocking find. He and a friend had to take it back to their hotel room for the night after trying to hand it in a police station, but there was no one on duty. The former custody sergeant said he had never made such a large find in his time on the force.
