Beast mode on: Chris Hemsworth flashed his bulging biceps as he enjoyed a beer with older brother Luke and friends in Byron Bay on Wednesday
He shocked fans around the world with a picture of his emaciated frame for his role in In The Heart Of The Sea.
But just a few months on, Chris Hemsworth’s bulging biceps have returned, and it appears the star is in better shape than ever.
The actor, who had to lose 15kgs to play a stranded sailor last year, is believed to be bulking up to play Thor, The God of Thunder, once again.
And the Hollywood heartthrob’s muscular arms were on full display in a snap shared on Instagramon Wednesday by his older brother Luke who wrote: ‘Hey, do you even lift bro?’

As the two oldest Hemsworth brothers enjoyed a cold beer with two mates in Byron Bay, the focus was on Chris' huge biceps as he leaned against the table. It comes after the 32-year-old Australian hunk posted an image just eight weeks ago of himself looking extremely gaunt after losing 15kg for his In The Heart Of The Sea role.
The star revealed in an interview with Men's Health magazine, that he and his co-stars Cillian Murphy and Ben Whishaw lived on a meagre diet that consisted of barely more than one egg a day.
'We couldn't go away for a month and get skinny, we had to do it while we were shooting,' he said.
'At one point, a day's rations were a boiled egg, a couple of crackers and a celery stick,' the Aussie hunk added.
Following the film's release late last year, the action movie star returned home to Byron Bay for the holidays and it appears he has used this time to hit the gym and work on his Thor physique.

Chris is not alone in undergoing an extreme transformation and drastic weightloss for a role.
Actor Tom Hanks had to undergo a similar transformation to play a plane crash survivor left stranded on an uninhabited island in his movie Castaway.
Tom has since spoken out about the toll excessive weightloss and gain for different roles has taken on his body, and believes that it could be a contributing factor to his Type 2 diabetes.
The actor now refuses to take on any roles that require him to physically adapt to the character through weight.
