Massive 300ft Cornish sinkhole opens up just feet from a £200,000 bungalow which now risks disappearing into the old mine workings

Amazing pictures of 300ft Cornish mineshaft are captured by drone
When the latest mine opened up in Scorrier, an enterprising local rigged a camera to a drone and sent it above the shaft to show how deep it really is. It is almost impossible to see the bottom of the sinkhole - which would be deadly to anyone who accidentally fell in - even with a bird's-eye view. Mark Thomas, who filmed the video, wrote online: 'A massive mineshaft opens up under a garage at a house in Scorrier near Redruth in Cornwall. This shaft is truly massive and is approximately 300ft [90m] to water - and God knows how deep from there!'
