Moped gang armed with axes and sledgehammers steal luxury watches in terrifying raid on Mayfair jewellers

Raiders smashed their way into Time Machine in Avery Row near Bond Street this morning using sledgehammers and axes, in what police believe was a pre-planned armed robbery. Two of the gang then broke into display cases and stole watches and jewellery worth thousands of pounds (empty boxes pictured among broken glass top left and inset), while their two accomplices waited on mopeds outside. Before fleeing the scene (bottom left), one of the moped drivers threatened a customer in a nearby cafe when he spotted him talking on his phone, believing he was alerting the police.
