Monet's 42ft-long work Agapanathus Triptych to go on display in Britain for the first time
Claude Monet's 42ft long painting, the Agapanathus Triptych (pictured) will go on display at the Royal Academy of Art in London in April. The French artist (bottom right) worked on the epic piece from 1915 until his death at the age of 86 in 1926. The painting comprises of three pieces, each measuring 7ft by 14ft. It was inspired by the flower, also known as the Lily of the Nile, which grew in the pond of his garden in Giverny, just west of Paris.
