Why Nigerians don't produce world-class movies - Movie producer EZEROUM UGWU.

NOT JUST A movie producer,BUT A PRO PROFESSIONAL TALENT KING, Ezeruom Ugwu, on Friday said that Nigerian producers lacked necessary funds to produce world class movies.

The industry overtime has built quality personnel who can produce great movies but sponsorship and investment restrain them.HE SAID THAT THE INDUSTRY NEED ENCOURAGEMENT . BUT THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DAY SEEMS LIKE NOT READY FOR THAT.

Americans spend millions of dollars and over one to two years in producing one movie, but here we have an investor with three to four million naira as investment for a movie.AND AT THE END OF THE DAY, THE WHOLE GAIN WENT TO PIRACY AND THE GOVERNMENT CLAIM TO BE AWAKE.

With such funds, you can't even spend three months on location because you won't have resources to foot bills and even pay acts,” he told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
CHIEF Ugwu said that movie producers do not employ professionals for production since there was limitation of funds.
When a producer does not have money to call ‘A-list’ actors, he just will find cast that can fit roles, for him to pay less,” he said.
Ugwu said that the industry needed government intervention to ensure that a profound structure was in place to drive growth and regulate the industry. CHIEF UGWU who is also the (CEO of ROUM TV, AND ROUM BLOGSPOT.COM ) IN CASE YOU DON'T KNOW HE is also the one in charge of WWW.NOLLYWOOD.
