Carl Langdell charged with murder of Katie Locke found dead on Christmas Eve
Katie Locke (left), who taught history and politics at a Catholic secondary school in east London, was found dead at Theobalds Park Hotel (inset) in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire. The hotel, which is run by the De Vere group, is a grade-II listed Georgian manor set in 55 acres of parkland. Carl Langdell (right), 26, was charged on Christmas Day with her murder and remanded in custody. His CV lists him as a student at one of the most prestigious law schools in the country and says he founded the firm Langdell Legal Associates in August. He also spent 11 months working for the hotel group during a placement in Moscow, according to LinkedIn. He lives three miles from the hotel where Miss Locke's body was found. Last night, Ms Locke's parents John and Jennifer, from Buckhurst Hill, Essex, released a statement paying tribute to their daughter, saying their future had been 'stolen'.
