Girl fights for life after trying to leapfrog broken Lymington bollard
The child was rushed to hospital in Southampton with serious head injuries after she attempted to 'leapfrog' the heavy 3ft-tall bollard but it came loose and struck her. Police are investigating claims the local council had been told the bollard (pictured on the floor left and inset) in Lymington, Hampshire, was faulty almost a month ago. People left flowers at the scene today (right) where the six-year-old was hurt while with her mother, father and four-year-old sister on a family holiday to the south coast.
