Stunning photos of Mongolian herdsmen galloping through the snowRiders of the snow: Stunning photos of Mongolian herdsmen galloping through the bitter cold on horseback

The Wuzhumuqin horses being ridden through the white planes of Mongolia were once said to be used by the might army of Genghis Khan. Magnificent photos have captured them galloping through the snow in West Ujimqin Banner, an autonomous region of China, where temperatures can drop to a bitter minus 18 degrees Celsius. The local herdsmen are said to be skilled in catching, raising and training the Wuzhumuqin horses. Dressed in thick, traditional clothes, they weave in and out of the wild animals that are desperately trying to evade their lassos.
