'I'm going to buy myself a nice pair of £200 brogues': Winners of Britain's biggest ever Lotto jackpot reveal how they plan to spend their £33m windfall (and how they celebrated with a cup of tea)

Lotto jackpot winners David and Carol Martin reveal how they’ll spend £33m windfall
David and Carol Martin, a husband and wife from Hawick, in the Scottish Borders, have been named as winners of £33million, half of the UK's biggest-ever Lotto jackpot. The couple revealed they were tucking into a bacon and black pudding roll with friends when they checked their ticket and realised they had all six numbers. Mr Martin revealed his first purchase was going to be a £200 pair of brogues, while the couple have also offered to pay for a first-class ticket home from Australia for their 26-year-old daughter Lisa, who is working for a recruitment company. The Martins' winning ticket, which was bought from Morrisons, sat on their mantelpiece overnight Saturday and the couple did not check it until the following morning when prompted by friends, it has emerged. Mr Martin, who has a heart condition, is also a big sports fan and wants to go to Wimbledon and the Masters golf tournament. Pictured inset is their home in Hawick.
