Using around 200 underground tiles to convert the kinetic energy from the people playing football above, the locals now have a partially renewable source of electricity that helps power their pitch’s floodlights.
The Pavegen kinetic technology used in the pitch was developed by Laurence Kemball-Cook, a grant winner of Shell’s LiveWIRE programme. His incredible journey started like so many others, by simply asking “what if?”.
