Down's syndrome boy had never spoken until winning beauty pageants

Down's syndrome boy, nine, had never spoken - until his older sisters began taking him to beauty pageants and he started WINNING them

Nine-year-old Nicholas Moss (above) from Southampton has won more than 50 pageant titles and owns up to 100 crowns and sashes, four years after first entering one of the competitions. Inspired by her son's transformation into a confident boy after his many victories, his mother Elaine, 53, has set up her own pageant which welcomes children with disabilities. Among the titles he has received are 'Ultimate Grand Supreme' and 'King' at various pageants, with the most common event he has entered being 'Let's Go Glitz'. Nicholas (also pictured, centre inset, as a baby in hospital) had two heart operations after doctors found two holes in his heart when he was just 12 weeks old.
