Dazzling Duchess dons Diana's favourite tiara for the first time: Kate chooses Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara for glittering white tie Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace
The Duchess of Cambridge paid tribute to Prince William's late mother by wearing her dazzling headpiece made of 19 diamond arches each cradling a pearl drop. The Queen gave the tiara to Diana as a wedding present in 1981 and she went on to wear it at several events. Kate (picture in her chauffeur-driven Bentley) chose to honour the former Princess of Wales (inset) at the glittering event for 1,500 dignitaries from 130 countries.
