David Cameron is heckled in flood-hit York as angry residents demand action
David Cameron was heckled during a visit to flood-hit communities in northern England today (centre). One woman (left) shouted: 'No more cuts to public services' as he spoke to a team from the Scarborough mountain rescue, who had deployed with a dinghy on a submerged street in York city centre. It came as Army helicopters delivered additional supplies and repair equipment to flood-hit areas as troops continue to work around-the-clock to help those stricken by the deluge (top right). Soldiers and mountain rescue teams continue to evacuate residents from their flood-hit homes in York while a Chinook helicopter delivered supplies to help repair a flood defence barrier which was besieged by floodwaters. Elsewhere, residents and business owners began the huge clean-up operation as floodwaters began to recede in communities across Yorkshire, Cumbria and Lancashire including Tadcaster, North Yorkshire (bottom right).
