Bin Laden's house? I could have been there: Shaker Aamer says he may have gone to seek safety during US bombing - but stresses he never met the Al-Qaeda leader
Shaker Aamer today says he could have been 'in Osama Bin Laden's house' in Afghanistan (bottom left). He also says he could have been at the Battle of Tora Bora (top left), the scene of a dramatic mountain showdown between the terror mastermind's acolytes and US-led forces in December 2001. And he adds that he met hook-handed cleric Abu Hamza (bottom right) in London and that he used to 'sit and talk' with Abu Qatada, the preacher of hate thrown out of Britain in 2013. But he insists there are innocent explanations for all of these things, and denies ever being a terrorist. Mr Aamer (pictured today) was detained in Afghanistan by bounty hunters in December 2001 and sold to US forces as a potential Al Qaeda suspect, before being transferred to Guantanamo Bay in 2002. Allegations were dropped against him in 2007 - eight years before he was released.
