Restaurant boss at picturesque harbourside on the 'English Riviera' angers locals after painting the building bright blue

Jack's Restaurant boss at harbourside on the 'English Riviera' paints building blue
Locals claim the striking and colourful transformation of Jack's Restaurant has created a 'horrific' blot on the landscape of the picturesque and popular tourist spot in Devon.
The Torquay restaurant says it recently painted the entire building blue to be in keeping with its American diner theme. It claims feedback from their customers and visitors to their blue explosion has been largely positive. But David Crawford, 66, of Torquay, has called on the council to take enforcement action to make them paint it back. He said: 'Jack's waterfront diner is the most horrific and stand-alone blue blot on the landscape.'When first opened, Jack's facade at pavement level had a canopy and was in a vivid blue. This has since been extended to cover the whole of the original white face of the building to roof level - in my view, totally out of keeping within this row of Victorian buildings.'
