The three young royals were seen smiling and laughing with one another (right) as they arrived at Westminster Abbey alongside the monarch (left) for the rare joint public engagement, one of the highlights of the Queen's calendar. The Duchess of Cambridge looked resplendent in a £2,500 grey coat by Erdem and an unusually large hat by 90-year-old John Boyd, a new milliner for her. Prince Andrew, the Queen's son, also joined in with the family affair. The service, the largest inter-faith gathering in the UK, is being broadcast live on BBC One for the first time in celebration of Her Majesty's lifetime commitment to the unique 'family' in this milestone year. As head of the 53 nations, the Queen sees the continuation of the Commonwealth as one of the greatest achievements of her reign and is keen to pass on her enthusiasm for it to her grandchildren.
