ITN newsreader Nina Hossain 'feared for her safety as a stalker followed her from home to work and out with friends for 18 months'
Peter Birt, 42, pictured left outside court today, once allegedly trailed the broadcaster into a London restaurant and 'stared at her for 15 mInutes'. Mother-of-three Ms Hossain, 40, right with ITV colleague Steve Scott and inset on screen, an anchor for ITV Lunchtime news, was allegedly stalked for 18 months between February 2014 and November 2015. Birt would allegedly follow her to pubs, on trains and outside work. Birt, who claims their meetings were coincidental or did not happen at all, will go on trial in April where Ms Hossain will give evidence from behind a screen.
