Liverpool car smashes into group of Belvedere Academy pupils leaving 8 injured
Several young girls were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car as they left their school in Liverpool this afternoon. Police confirmed eight people were left with serious injuries, with seven girls aged between 11 and 13 taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital and a 16-year-old taken to Royal Liverpool University Hospital. An 80-year-old female motorist was stopped at the scene of the collision and was assisting police with their enquiries. She was not injured and has not been arrested, police said.
