Derbyshire widow's house trashed when granddaughter had New Year's Eve party

Party gatecrashers cause damage worth thousands of pounds after woman leaves her teenage granddaughter to house-sit and yobs destroy new kitchen, smash TVs and steal watch and phone

Karen Roberts, 55, pictured, let her teenage granddaughter invite a few 'trusted friends' to spend the night at her home in Stenton Fields, Derbyshire, while she visited family in Bristol. But she said the night went 'horribly wrong' when an unruly mob travelled hundreds of miles to party at her home. Photos taken of the wreckage show piles of broken glass and debris (bottom right), an upturned bedroom (bottom left) and a smashed iPhone discarded on the windowsill (top left). The out-of-control visitors also smashed three televisions and smeared mud and ketchup on the floor (top right).
