Margaret Thatcher's dispatch box sells for £250k as Christie's auction gets underway

Maggie sale makes millions as bidders scramble for a piece of history (Shame our great museums weren't among them...)  By okwudiri for proudstars

A quarter of a century after leaving Downing Street, the belongings of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher were being sold off at Christie's auction house with the sale making millions. Among the items that sold were a red ministerial dispatch box for £242,000 as well as clothes, jewellery and signed pictures.
