Barbados mansion where Environment Agency boss is on holiday as Yorkshire battles floods
Sir Philip Dilley (inset), 60, who earns £100,000 a year for a three-day week as EA chairman, has spent the past fortnight at his sprawling mansion (main) in Barbados, 4,000 miles away from the flooding. Surrounded by palm trees, the Caribbean mansion boasts an array of rooms, with ornate statues, plants and several balconies. It also features the words 'Serenity' in black on an outer wall at its entrance. There has been uproar over Sir Philip's family holiday and absence in public at a time where there are nine 'severe' flood warnings for northern England and Wales - meaning potential loss of life. Sir Philip is expected to return home in the next 24 hours, MailOnline understands.
