Britain was battered by severe gales today as Storm Clodagh crashed into the country from the Atlantic, dumping seven inches of snow.
Huge gusts buffered some exposed coastal areas in the West, while the top speed recorded was 79mph at High Bradfield in South Yorkshire.
The blustery weather has led to a number of towns across the country to cancel their Christmas lights switch-on events over the weekend.
Today Cambuslang in South Lanarkshire pulled the plug over rain and wind concerns, joining others including Kilmarnock, Stoke, Lichfield and Gosport.
The Met Office has issued a yellow 'be aware' warning for snow in Scotland today and tomorrow, and then rain and wind for most of Britain tomorrow.
